about

Based on the pentatonic scale Insen comes the inspiration for the name InZen (Insen or In Sen; kanji: 陰旋; hiragana: いんせん) is a tuning scale adapted from shamisen music by Yatsuhashi Kengyō for tuning of the koto. It only differs from the famous Hirajoshi scale by one note.

The formulae follows the previous track with the first part being arhythmic and following on the gradual development of the instrumental improvisation and expansion within the chosen pentatonic scale. Surprisingly, despite having less notes to work with than the previous track this improvisation goes for approximately 11 minutes for both sections and creates a particularly mystic oriental mood.
